How You Can Help

Nova House is a residential non-profit organization that receives some core-funding, but relies on private donations in order to provide the services we do. Everyone has different gifts to give and we appreciate any commitment that you are able to provide. You can help make a difference by:

  • Volunteering your time

  • Putting together a gift for a birthday, Christmas, or other holiday gifts for distribution to the families staying in the shelter

  • Offering a financial donation by which ever means you feel most comfortable.

Donations of household items and clothing can be made at our Twice Over store, where the individuals using our services shop for free and choose what they need. For more information about Twice Over, click here.

Current Immediate Needs

Items we are currently in need of at the shelter

  • Regular Pillowcases

  • Fitted bed sheets - double/full

  • Fitted bed sheets - twin/single

  • single and double bed comforters

  • size 6 or 7 diapers

  • baby wipes

  • hand soap, shampoo, body wash

Foster a Pet

We are reaching out to our community in search of animal lovers who are willing to open their hearts and homes to foster cats or dogs in need. These precious pets require temporary shelter while their owners are staying with us. Occasionally we have a circumstance where a woman or family needs shelter, but has a pet and no one in their life is able to care for it.

 

Sadly, the shelter is unable to accept animals, so we are hoping that people in the community would be willing to foster. The well-being of a family pet is of utmost importance to us and we assure you that any supplies needed during their stay will be provided. Additionally, to uphold the confidentiality and privacy of our clients, no names will be disclosed.
