Foster a Pet

We are reaching out to our community in search of animal lovers who are willing to open their hearts and homes to foster cats or dogs in need. These precious pets require temporary shelter while their owners are staying with us. Occasionally we have a circumstance where a woman or family needs shelter, but has a pet and no one in their life is able to care for it.

Sadly, the shelter is unable to accept animals, so we are hoping that people in the community would be willing to foster. The well-being of a family pet is of utmost importance to us and we assure you that any supplies needed during their stay will be provided. Additionally, to uphold the confidentiality and privacy of our clients, no names will be disclosed.

If you have the space in your home and the love in your heart to provide a safe environment for these furry friends, we would be immensely grateful for your support. Please reach out to us at or by calling us at

204-482-7882 ext. 450 if you are interested or have any questions.

It is an honour to be a part of the Selkirk Community.
The support our community provides us is incredible.  We are blessed!
